Approving or Requesting Changes
How to approve a document or request revisions as a reviewer.
Your Options as a Reviewer
When reviewing a document, you have two actions available:
Approve
Click Approve to signal that the content is ready to publish. You can optionally add a comment with your approval (e.g., "Looks great, just one minor suggestion in the conclusion").
Request Changes
Click Request Changes if the content needs revisions before you can approve it. You'll be asked to provide a comment explaining what needs to change.
Where to Find the Actions
- On mobile (reviewer link): The Approve and Request Changes buttons appear in the bottom action bar
- On desktop: These actions appear in the document toolbar
After You Submit
Once you approve or request changes:
- The document owner is notified immediately
- Your decision is recorded in the document's activity log
- If you requested changes, the owner can upload a revised version and re-send for review
Multi-Stage Approvals
Some documents have multiple approval stages (e.g., internal review → client approval). Your approval may advance the document to the next stage, or the owner may need all reviewers in your stage to approve before it moves forward.
